I'm back in New Zeland, and living in Christchurch for a while. Nina and I arrived just in time for the earthquake on 22 February that has blown this place apart. The video below gives an idea of the damage. Many big building are more damaged than they look and half the central city will probably be demolished. Nevertheless, it is amazing how the pieces are being picked up and planning is underway for putting them back together. Our little contribution is the Regenerate Christchurch project to give people and opportunity to demonstrate their preferences on key rebuild issues.

We're also establishing a charitable trust to support sustainability projects. Intially the trust will be the umbrella for our projects, but we are looking forward to growing it and adding others. We are also still quietly working on Sustainable Enterprise initiatives.

I now have two day jobs. Half of me is working as a advisor to businesses and organisations on renewable energy for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA). On the other half I am back working for Octa, managing earthquake recovery for two schools and developing a strategic sustainability advising service.

2010 saw Nina and I research our theses in Tonga, graduate with a Masters degree in sustainability science from Lund University in Sweden, and cycle 3000km across Europe from Sweden to Slovenia.

Under the Inspiring Sustainability section are some of my suggestions for getting one's head around the challenges of our time thorugh readings, films and websites. Hopefully the suggestions I list here help inspire you to push for a better world. Also listed here are my publications so far.

More details of my Past Projects can be found in that section. For specific details of my work experience, both professional and voluntary, then please have a look through the different sections of my CV.

Under Adventures there are pictures from my various travels. My favourite photos appear in the Photo Gallery.

Thanks and enjoy your visit,

Tim Taylor
